Solo Glissotar: Art Now Quinte (Belleville)

September 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 7pm-10pm.

I’m bringing my feedback-loop electroacoustic solo thing to Belleville with a new instrument I’ve been working on for the last few years: the glissotar. A reinvention of the tarogato (a relative of the soprano saxophone used in Hungarian traditional music) by saxophonist and designer Daniel Vaczi, the glissotar is the first fully microtonal woodwind instrument ever created (other than the slide whistle?), with as much pitch flexibility as a voice. This will be my debut performance on glissotar, the culmination of years of practice. It’s gonna rip.
